Academic Intervention Service (AIS) is a program designed to help students meet state education standards. This instruction and/or support service supplements the instruction provided in the general curriculum.
Christ the King School (CTK) offers AIS. When a student has a learning difficulty and needs additional support, AIS can help. When a teacher has a concern about a student at CTK they go to the Child Study Team; the Team includes the Principal, an AIS Coordinator and one additional staff member. The Team meets and discusses what can be done to help the student.
CTK School has an Academic Intervention Coordinator (AIC). Teachers will notify the AIC if they suspect a student may be experiencing a learning difficulty. The teacher and the AIC will be in communication with the parent/guardian to explain the process and options of intervention available.
